theatre II course syllabus


COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course is a continuation of Theatre I. It is designed to further introduce the student to the history of theatre, terminology, performance techniques and technical theatre. Students will be given presentations and take notes, watch footage from various productions and be tested on presentations. Students will use information given and be required to do research in order to create presentations and perform scenes from various genres of theatre throughout history.


COURSE OBJECTIVE

Students will gain knowledge of the history of theatre, and understand the process of this collaborative art form. They will develop research skills through hands-on projects and presentations. Projects and presentations for the course will expose students to the classical and modern forms of theatre. Students will have a greater understanding of the actor's process through performance.
