I have served as the High School Librarian and Media Specialist for 17 years. My goal is to make the library a welcoming, functional space where students feel comfortable finding resources, conquering research, and discovering a lifelong passion for reading.

Beyond the library, I handle essential school operations that keep everything running smoothly. I serve as the Fixed Asset Person, which means I track and manage all the high school's equipment. Crucially, I organize the yearly Chromebook distribution and pick up, making sure every student has their device, and I oversee the system for student badges. These behind-the-scenes duties ensure all our essential resources and student access points are efficiently managed.

The library is designed to be a crucial zone for mental balance, offering students a deliberate break from constant technology and high-stakes digital games. To support this balanced learning, we've created designated areas with hands-on tools. Activities like puzzles, board games, Legos, and origami are more than just fun; they are essential for sharpening critical thinking, strategy, fine motor skills, and spatial reasoning. Additionally, our creative stations—featuring a Cricut, a button maker, and the Wii—foster teamwork, structural design, and real-world collaboration. As a proud and active Bearcat, my involvement extends to sponsoring the LBHS Book Club and the Young Republicans club—I love connecting with students through these activities!

I am a true Gulf Coast native, having graduated from St. John High School and earned my Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Southern Mississippi (USM). I hold certifications in Social Studies, Psychology, and Library/Media Specialist. I am proud to be a Bearcat and affirm that I work "with the best on the coast!"

I live in Gulfport. As a wife, mom, and lifelong local, I love spending my time off-campus reading and spending time with friends and family.
