Long Beach School District is proud to announce that our Career and Technical Education Director, Mr. Patrick Bennett, has been selected as one of four finalists for the Mississippi Administrator of the Year!
Mr. Bennett’s vision and leadership has strengthened and expanded CTE opportunities for Long Beach students and others through meaningful partnerships and innovative programming. His dedication has opened doors to real‑world work experiences and industry connections, providing clear plans, pathways, and purposes that prepare students for successful careers and meaningful, productive lives.
Superintendent Dr. Talia Lock shared her pride in this well‑deserved recognition, saying: “Mr. Bennett’s commitment to our students and to the growth of our CTE programs is extraordinary. His vision and hard work have transformed opportunities for our young people, and we are incredibly proud to see him honored for the impact he makes every day.”

In just his first year, he completed the entire skills portion of NCCER Welding Level 1—an achievement that speaks to his remarkable talent, discipline, and determination. His skill level and work ethic have surpassed every student in the program. Jett’s dedication doesn’t stop when the bell rings. He spends countless afternoons in the shop, practicing, refining his techniques, and pushing himself to master more advanced work. His consistency, focus, and commitment to safety set the standard for what it means to be a Bearcat in Career & Technical Education. Beyond his technical ability, Jett demonstrates the professionalism, dependability, and positive attitude that employers value. Long Beach Health Science Bearcats Shine at the State HOSA Competition!

We are incredibly proud of our Long Beach High School Health Science Bearcats for their outstanding performance at the HOSA – Future Health Professionals State Leadership Conference!

This year, 13 of our students placed at the district level, and 11 advanced to compete at the state competition, representing Long Beach with excellence, professionalism, and dedication to the health science field.

Because of their incredible achievement, our Bearcats are headed to the HOSA International Leadership Conference in Indianapolis, Indiana this summer. We are so proud of our Bearcats and can’t wait to see them represent Long Beach at Nationals!
