We are incredibly proud of our Long Beach High School Health Science Bearcats for their outstanding performance at the HOSA – Future Health Professionals State Leadership Conference!

Twelve people stand outdoors in front of a large tree, all dressed in formal attire. Most wear black suits with yellow lanyards and name badges, and one person on the far right wears a blue suit with brown shoes. They pose together on a grassy area with buildings and parked cars visible in the background.

LBHS Bearcat Jett Hughes, CTE Student of the Month
A student stands in a classroom wearing a flipped‑up welding helmet and a beige protective welding jacket. They hold a rectangular metal piece in one hand and give a thumbs‑up with the other. Behind them is a light gray cinder block wall, an open wooden door, and a table with a laptop, water bottle, and assorted supplies. Additional bottles and containers sit on the floor along the wall. The scene captures a moment of hands‑on welding or shop‑class work.

Long Beach School District is proud to celebrate LBHS Bearcat Jett Hughes, who has been selected by Build Mississippi/MDE as a CTE Student of the Month!Jett has distinguished himself as one of the most exceptional welding students at Long Beach High School. In just his first year, he completed the entire skills portion of NCCER Welding Level 1—an achievement that speaks to his remarkable talent, discipline, and determination. His skill level and work ethic have surpassed every student in the program. Jett’s dedication doesn’t stop when the bell rings. He spends countless afternoons in the shop, practicing, refining his techniques, and pushing himself to master more advanced work. His consistency, focus, and commitment to safety set the standard for what it means to be a Bearcat in Career & Technical Education. Beyond his technical ability, Jett demonstrates the professionalism, dependability, and positive attitude that employers value. Your hard work is paying off, and the Bearcat community is incredibly proud of you.
