This course introduces students to Design and Technology in Theatre. It is a fast paced course that is project based. Students are introduced to the design process, elements, concepts, script analysis for the designer, drafting, sketching, model building and more.

THEATRE III/TECHNOLOGY AND DESIGN

COURSE OVERVIEW

This course is designed to give students experience in Technical Theatre and Design.

It is a project based course that will allow students to explore areas of Scenic, Lighting,

Costume, Props and Makeup. Students will have projects in each area of design throughout

the nine weeks.

COURSE OBJECTIVE

Students will gain knowledge of drafting for theatre, sketching, model building, light labs,

costume labs, prop building and makeup labs. Through the exploration of analysis, problem

solving, time management, budget skills and Design Theories students will make

discoveries through research and gain hands-on skills.

January 29th Scenic Design and Lighting Design Package Due

February 12th Costume and Sound Design Package Due

February 26th Prop and Makeup Package Due

March 5th Design Presentations
