Hello! My name is Christina Ladner. I am a graduate of Long Beach High School and the University of Southern Mississippi. #SMTTT I am a native of Mobile, Alabama, but have lived in Long Beach for the majority of my life. I have one daughter, Olivia, who graduated from LBHS and USM and just finished her first year teaching here! I come from a family of educators, and I truly believe that my occupation chose me. My mother retired from LBSD after 25+ years in elementary education, and both my brother and I have taught in the district for 24+ years.

I am excited to be beginning my 25th year of teaching in the Long Beach School District, and I honestly cannot imagine teaching anywhere else! I have taught everything from math to social studies to fine arts, but my love is teaching business education. In fact, I worked as an accountant and marketing director before going into education.

I am the Career and Technical Education (CTE) business education instructor. I have taught CTE for 13 years, and I absolutely LOVE it! I teach "Business, Marketing, & Finance I & II". This course provides an extensive look into the business world, covering disciplines such as communication and customer relations, professional development, economics, personal finance, management and administration, business law, human resource management, business operations, financial analysis, and strategic management. Students who complete both years of the course are eligible for a full-tuition scholarship to a Mississippi community college.

My BMF II students are also involved in the daily operations of the campus coffee shop "Bearcat Coffee Company". Students are involved in every aspect of the business, including: advertising, tracking and stocking supplies, running the cash register, preparing beverages, customer service, and breaking down and cleaning the cafe' each day. This is a wonderful experience that provides an excellent insight into the operation of a small business.

I am proud to say that my classes have consistently ranked at the top among all Mississippi school districts in state testing of these courses.
